Pink Fighter Jet for Breast-Cancer Awareness Month

“The USS Lexington Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas, has fused patriotism and breast-cancer awareness.
Unveils a hot pink F9F-8 Cougar for display.
“The Blue Ghost,” a World War II-vintage Essex Class aircraft carrier that arrived in Corpus Christi beach in 1992, will be home to an eye-catching fighter jet.
A local NBC affiliate stopped by the museum to ask how they pulled off the “Heliconia” paint job.
“This one was ready to go. We had it in aircraft restoration. It was ready to go, and we had already had it primed. So, we reflected back on a time when Disney was here. Disney showed us how to actually paint a vehicle and then power wash it off in a couple weeks by adding laundry detergent,” said Charles Reustle, the station reported Tuesday.
